I've been able to enjoy some great time this summer reading for fun and catching up on books that have been on my shelf for a couple of months. The first book I read this summer was the sequel to The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen. It's called The Runaway King. This was a great sequel and in tradition with young adult literature right now it is the second in a trilogy. I am looking forward to the third one this fall.
Another book I read was The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I read this one for my monthly book club with friends. It was a great read! It is a fantasy novel and I enjoyed all the different aspects of the world Ms. Morgenstern created. It was a lot of fun to discuss the book at our monthly meeting because everyone had VERY different opinions of this book. In the spring, I saw Chris Crutcher speak at TeenBookCon and wanted to read his new novel, Period 8. I made it through the book, but it was definitely outside of my comfort zone. This is a high school read or even college age read. After I read it, I needed something happier to read so I turned to Lauren Morrill's book, Meant to Be. I am currently reading it and enjoying the fun-loving spirit of the book. Hope you all are having a great summer.
