Yesterday I finished a war novel by Kevin Powers called The Yellow Birds. The language and descriptions are graphic, but it gave me a whole new perspective on war, soldiers, and their lives when they come home. It was quite humbling to read. I am grateful to the service men and women who keep us safe and protected here at home.
This week, I got to meet Kenneth Oppel at the Blue Willow Bookshop. It was a great time and I got the book, This Dark Endeavor. Rich and I like to read together so we will make this our next book to read aloud...it's based on the early life of Frankenstein and his family.
Blue Willow is a great bookstore - check out their website!
I also finished Paranormalcy this morning! Such a great read - I saw there's a second one, but I am not sure if I will read it because I liked the ending so much.
